This is a unique project conceived by the Ecotourism Department to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the formation of Kerala State. The project involved planting of fifty different varieties of indigenous mango saplings in more than ten acres of hilly tract at Malarakkunnu near the famous temple of Thiruvilwamala. The trees have grown and have started to bear fruits. Additionally, a building has also been constructed by the Department under the Nila Project in the site.
